During the competition, participating schools develop and prepare a three-course meal for a panel of judges. The students are evaluated on cooking skills, teamwork, communication, menu development, food safety, plating and overall taste. Scottsbluff was awarded the “Best of Beef” recognition for their Seared Filet Mignon with Spicy Cream Sauce & Crab Legs. The team also finished the competition with a top three overall ranking. For their efforts, the team received a plaque and a beef voucher from the Nebraska Beef Council.
